Northern Resonance is the Scandinavian string trio that takes newly composed folk music into a new soundscape. With their previously untested combination of instruments; viola d’amore, hardanger fiddle and nyckelharpa they let Scandinavian music meet explosive rhythms and grand chamber-like arrangements that takes folk music in a new direction. All members are highly skilled and accomplished musicians, rooted in traditional music. With an intense musical connection that is rare to come across, they invite you into their world of compositions. There is great life in their tunes, and the trio knows how to bring it out.
With the Swedish Grammy nominated debut album from 2020, Northern Resonance have already established themselves with a glorious sound and have impressed a broad audience worldwide with concerts that are characterized by their explosive energy. On the newly released album Vision of Three they have developed both the arrangements and the sound into something even more elaborate. Just as the compositions and arrangements evolved on the new album the sound has also taken several steps into a new soundscape.
“Northern Resonance are very eloquently dancing on a high-wire between traditional folk music and brilliant innovation; they have forged what amounts to an utterly unique soundscape. […] Anna, Petrus and Jerker have invented a new listening experience; they produce great life in all their tunes, and the trio know how to bring out that definable magic.” - FolkWales (★★★★★)

The potluck is optional, but is a great chance to meet others in the audience and maybe even share a meal with the artist. It also helps ensure the artist isn't having to have a meal from a gas station. We'll provide the plates, bowls, silverware, napkins, and, if you need it, serving spoons. Feel free to bring anything you'd like, an entrée, appetizer, dessert, or drink to share. I recommend to bring something you will enjoy eating, because if you enjoy it it is likely others will as well.
Bring lawn chairs/blankets to sit on.
